How to assign geometrical and mechanical properties to a reinforcement bar in MathCAD Prime 3.1?

How can I assign geometrical and Mechanical properties to a series of reinforcement bars and have them saved on the system or pre-established so everytime I perform a calculation I simply pull out the bar number and the parameters automatically are displayed. please see attachments. Thank you.

Also, the list box selector (and other similar controls) are not available in Prime.  There are ways around this, but if you're trying to mimic your text book, Mathcad 15 would be helpful for you.

Which version of Mathcad are you using?

I am using Mathcad Prime 3.1. Do you think Mathcad Prime 3.1 is not able to do this? only Mathcad 15?

Juan,

Note that the screenshots you provided include hidden regions.  The properties of the bars are determined in those hidden regions (likely by looking up values from a table).

Is using Mathcad 15 an option for you?  Note that a license purchased for Prime can be used to install Mathcad 15.  Since your textbook examples are from a legacy edition, it might be helpful for you to use the same version.

Thank you for your reply. So you think this "box selector" function (as shown in the attachment from a textbook) will allow you to assign data (geometric properties and mechanical properties to a specific bar number so every time I choose these # bars, their parameters will automatically appear) is only available in Mathcad 15 and not Mathcad prime 3.1?

I thought Mathcad Prime 3.1 was supposed to be way better than Mathcad 15. I am now confused. How would you mimic this in Mathcad Prime 3.1? How would you do it in MathCad 15 and how would you try it in Mathcad Prime 3.1?

what is the name of this function? Only Mathcad 15 can do these boxes? I also think the text book uses Mathcad 15.

Thank you

I guarantee it. Many things that are in Mathcad 15 are not available in Prime 3.1

Where did you get that impression? I guess the obvious answer is "from PTC", which just shows that the power of marketing trumps reality. Sad. Prime is better than Mathcad 15 in a few respects, but some of those are only because it reverses bad decisions of the past and brings back features that we lost (mainly when moving from version 11 to version 12). Those (very) few advantages in no way compensate for the huge number of missing features and inadequate functionality of Prime though. You are much better off using Mathcad 15 for the foreseeable future.

Listboxes are slightly painful to use. There are some here that have custom code that makes them easier to use: Saving the state of controls.zip. They can be populated from an input, and save their state when the worksheet is saved.

You can download Mathcad 15 here: Thank You for Your Interest in PTC Mathcad 15 | PTC

yes you are right I looked and it seems the function is called "List Box" available in Matcad 15 and not available in Mathcad Prime. I will go and obtain Matcad 15 and try it out. Thank you for your answer.
