Extrude a 3D curve or a surface edge with Creo Parametric

Here's a short video that shows how to extrude a 3D curve or a surface edge in the space using Creo Parametric.

That's a heck of a find, Gabriele.  Thanks for sharing!

Creo 2 and Creo 3 has this capability.

Steven, i use Camtasia but there are some other free applications on the web to get the job done...

Ciao

Gabriele

Thanks a lot also from my CAD colleagues.

Awesome!

can anyone else still see this video?  I am trying to view it for the first time and it doesn't play for me...Seems like the link may be broken...?

I couldn't watch it in Firefox, but it worked in IE (though I only got super low resolution).

This is a really weird thing. Variable Pull Direction Draft has always had the prize as the most useless tool in Creo (and possibly the worst named, since you can't vary the pull direction), and not suddenly it turns out to be very useful, but for something having nothing to do with drafts! I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

If you can't see the video:

  1. Use the Variable Pull Direction Draft tool.
  2. Select a plane as the pull direction.
  3. Select your 3D curve as the hinge.
  4. Creo will extrude your "hinge" in the "pull direction" and create a surface.

I think the link itself is broken, however, I was able to watch it via the (view in My Videos) button.  Pretty cool stuff!
